Dog Training Academy
It is our belief that the best person to train your gun dog is you. We also understand that everyone is not in a position to train, We know jobs, temporary heath setbacks and geological locations are all very real limiting factures in training an accomplished gun dog. Just because your situation does not allow for adequate training does not mean you should not be able to enjoy an accomplished gun dog, that is why we provide our dog training academy.
If you're considering taking your dog to a professional trainer because you do not feel you have the knowledge you may want to consider our mentoring membership program. We have mentored many first time gun dog owner through successful programs.
Training Membership
Our training memberships are just about everything you will need to train your dog. The only thing you will need is a little time and the desire to train a dog that will be a joy to hunt with.

The grounds |
We have a 100 acre shooting preserve with fields and forest to train your dog. We make it available all year for dogs training. |
| Supplies | We have a wide range of training supplies to use as well as to purchase. Items like bird launchers are available for use on the grounds. We also have an extensive DVD, video library and can be checked out. We also carry many personnel supplies at very reasonable costs. |
| Birds | Each membership comes with 100 bird points to be used for training at rate below. |
| Know how | As author of "The Versatile Gun Dog Guide", pro trainer Jeff Green is available to assist and mentor you with any training. From the most basic obedience to advanced tasks such steady to wing, shot and drop. |

Our Training Programs
Below is a typical schedule of versatile gun dog training at Green Ranch along with an estimated time to complete each segment of training. It is our wish to train your dog to be a gundog that will be a joy to watch and hunt with in the field, forest and water. We will attempt to advance your dog as quickly as we can, but not at the risk of hindering its desire and cooperation in the field. Typically each training segment is a prerequisite to the next but we will be happy to discuss a custom training schedule for your dog.
Conditioning (1 month) $500.00 per month
Upon completion of conditioning, your dog will have been introduced to both
birds and bunnies and will be in the field every day.
• Introduction to birds

Puppy Boot Camp Training (1-2 months) $500.00
per month
Upon completion of Boot Camp, your dog will walk on a loose lead without
training collar, sit and whoa on lead without treats. It will have been
introduced to an E-Collar and will come readily on command disregarding common
distractions, and will not refuse to hold a bumper on the table. At this level
of training, we cannot leave out steps but any work you have done will certainly
speed this portion up. Boot Camp typically begins during the Conditioning.
• Beginner Leash work, including sit, down and begin Whoa
• Introduction to E-Collar and the training table
• Come on command
• Hold Training
Intermediate (2-3 months) $550.00 per month
Upon completion of this training regiment, your dog will be reaching for a
bumper, will hold game snugly but not hard mouthed and will not drop game until
commanded to. It will whoa on the run without game and will stay in a down
position while under observation. It will freely enter the water in search of
game. It will have a desire to find game birds and will allow you to make the
flush.

Advanced (3-6 months) $600.00 per month
After completing advanced training your dog will have a desire to find point and
on command retrieve birds to hand. You will be able to send your dog on blind
retrieves over land and in water. It will be obedient and a joy to be with both
in the house and in the field.

Blood tracking (1-2 month) $200.00 per month

Two-Three Artificial tracks will be laid and run per week. After completing our
blood tracking training your dog will be able to track and recover wounded big
game. On lead blood tracking is a cooperative effort so you will need to be part
of the training so you can also learn to read your dog.
